Originally from Slate Hill, New York, Robert Brozowski holds a Master’s Degree in Euphonium Performance from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. During his time at Georgia State Robert had the opportunity to study euphonium with Dr. Adam Frey and Prof. Eric Bubacz and trombone with Dr. William Mann. Robert was also a graduate assistant to the Associate Director of the School of Music, Coordinator of Recruitment and Director of Bands, Dr. Robert Ambrose. In this, he held responsibilities to attend meetings and assist in the organization of school of music audition days. Robert also held responsibilities in the music education department maintaining the inventory of and facilitating the rental of school instruments to students enrolled in technique courses.

 

Prior to his time at Georgia State, Robert obtained his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia. During his time at Fredonia, Robert studied euphonium with Prof. Barry Kilpatrick and has had multiple opportunities to perform in the Fredonia Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Paula Holcomb. During this time Robert performed multiple solo recitals ultimately concluding his degree by performing his graduation recital with honors.

 

As a performer, Robert has won multiple solo competitions resulting in major performances. Most noted of these performances are his performance of Peter Graham’s Brillante on a winners’ recital held at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as a result of being selected first prize in the American Protégé Woodwind and Brass Solo Competition. Robert was also selected as a winner of the 2016 Georgia State University Brumby Concerto Competition and performed a selection of Philip Wilby’s Euphonium Concerto with the Georgia State University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Robert Ambrose. Robert performs regularly with the Georgia Brass Band and regularly performs in and around the Atlanta Metro Area.

 

Robert has also had numerous opportunities to perform in masterclasses and take lessons from some of the world’s best performers and educators. These include, David Childs, David Thornton, Glenn Van Looy, Aaron Tindall, Dr. Adam Frey, SSgt. Donald Palmire, Dr. Rick Clements, Dr. Benjamin Schoening, Charae Kreuger.

 

As an educator, Robert has been invited to many schools throughout the Atlanta Metro Area and beyond to teach lessons, masterclasses, coach sectionals, and assist with marching band and large group performance evaluation preparation. He currently teaches privately and has taught students of all ages. Robert teaches K-5 general music at Lake Ridge Elementary School, a school in the Clayton County Public School District located in Jonesboro, Georgia.
